Solar Electric And Water Heating For Homes

Grid Connected PV Solar

More than 95% of the systems we install are grid connected PV solar systems. The PV solar panels generate electricity for your home. If there is not enough sunshine available to generate the electricity you require, you can take it from the grid and any excess energy you generate can be sold to the grid.
Advantages
  • Very little maintenance,
  • Quality Tier 1 solar panels with a 25 year insurance backed warranty,
  • Highly efficient NZ, German and US made inverters,
  • No chance of leaks, frost damage or overheating,
  • Continue to generate energy while you are not home or away on holiday,
  • Sell excess energy to your energy retailer,
  • Protect yourself against power price increases ,
  • Add value to your home,
  • Reduce your carbon footprint,
  • Return on investment over 10%
What size system will I need and what will it cost?

An average household in New Zealand consumes around 8,500kWh of energy each year, which is around $250 per month depending on the rate you pay for your energy.

We can design a system to match your usage or a portion of it, taking into consideration your roof space available and your budget. The system can be designed so that you can add to it over time as your usage increases or as your budget allows.

We offer a free design and quote service to all our clients.

Our grid connected systems start at $5,990 for a fully installed package.

Off Grid Power

Off Grid power systems are best suited to homes that have no access to the grid or the cost to get the grid connected is considerable. The solar energy is stored in a battery bank so that it is available as required and the system would generally be supported by a generator.
Advantages
  • Independence from the national grid,
  • No more ever increasing power bills,
  • Quality Tier 1 solar panels with a 25 year insurance backed warranty,
  • Highly efficient Australian or US made inverters,
  • No chance of leaks, frost damage or overheating,
  • No power more cuts,
  • Reduce your carbon footprint
What size system will I need and what will it cost? Our team of experts will work with you to determine your energy load profile, for which your off grid system design will be based on. It is important to get this design right so that your system performs well for many years to come. Advice will be offered to you on efficient appliances and methods to reduce your energy usage, which in turn will reduce the size and cost of your off grid system. Off grid power systems generally cost more than grid connected systems as you will require batteries and a backup energy source such as a generator. We offer a free design and quote service to all our clients. Our off grid systems start at approximately $15,000 for a fully installed package.

Solar Water Heating

Solar water heating systems use the sun’s rays to heat water in a solar collector, which is then stored in an insulated hot water cylinder. On a less sunny day, the system may need back-up heating, usually provided by electricity, gas or wetback fire.
Advantages
  • The latest international technology.
  • Evacuated tube technology means the system works all year round, not just a summer option.
  • Rigorously tested for New Zealand conditions.
  • Leading performer—as independently tested and shown on the EECA website.
  • Retrofit to your existing cylinder.
  • Outstanding quality product with a 10 year warranty on collectors.
  • Reduce your carbon footprint,
  • Ideal for high hot water users.
What size system will I need and what will it cost? The size system we will recommend to you will depend on the occupancy of your home and the size of your water cylinder if we are connecting to an existing cylinder. The table below demonstrates this in more detail. We offer a free design and quote service to all our clients. Our solar thermal systems start at approximately $4,500 for a fully installed package.
