Mounting Frames
Ground-mounted solar frames
Ground-mounted frames let us build your solar array on the ground instead of fixing panels to your roof, using engineered steel structures anchored into the soil or concrete. This is ideal for lifestyle blocks, farms, commercial yards, and homes where the roof is shaded, complex, or due for replacement.
Why choose a ground mount?
Better orientation and tilt
On the ground we are not restricted by your roof pitch, so we can face the array north and set the tilt angle specifically for your site to maximise energy production. This often means higher output from the same number of panels compared with many roof-mount options.Higher efficiency from cooler panels
Ground-mounted arrays usually have more airflow around the back of the modules, which helps them run cooler. Because solar panels lose efficiency as they heat up, this improved cooling can translate into slightly better real-world performance over the life of the system.Use spare land, not your roof
A ground array turns unused paddock, yard space, or a sunny corner of the section into a power plant. You’re not limited by roof size or shape, so it’s easier to design larger systems for high loads like irrigation, workshops, EV charging, or multiple dwellings.Simpler access and maintenance
Being at ground level makes cleaning, inspections, and performance checks much easier and safer than working at height on a roof. That ease of access supports better long-term care, which helps keep your system performing at its best.Future expansion is easier
If your power use grows, we can usually extend a ground-mounted array by adding extra frames and strings alongside the existing system. On a roof, extension is often constrained by available area, roof layout, and structural limits.Keep solar off your home structure
With a ground mount, the array is separated from the house, so we’re not putting additional penetrations through your roofing materials. This avoids clashes with vents, skylights and dormers, and means you don’t have to remove solar if you re-roof in future.
